WASTEC Market Activity Index/Market Trends Index

The WASTEC Industry Market and Production Survey (IMPS) tracks business trends every quarter. The IMPS provides 23 key benchmarks for manufacturing and distribution activities. The reports contain useful information for companies interested in market trends in the waste and recycling industry. This report trends on twenty-one questions broken up into six broad areas:

• Domestic Sales
• Export Sales
• Orders Activity
• Inventory Activity
• Price Activity and Productivity

The data is further segmented by manufacturers and by consultants/distributors/service providers (non-manufacturers). The IMPS is modeled after the nationally recognized Purchasing Managers’ Index. It tracks sales trends and measures them against projections for both domestic and international markets.  It provides a quick comparison of your company’s position against the industry.

WASTEC Manufacturer Sales Data

The Manufacturer Sales Data (MDS) Program consists of manufacturers reporting production and sales data in specific product categories. Depending on the product, this monthly/quarterly report covers invoiced shipments from production facilities, regardless of place of origin. Shipped product is reported by regional destination in the North American Domestic (NAD) market which includes the United States (broken out by five Regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West and Pacific), Canada and Mexico, and Exports to all other areas from production facilities in the NAD area.

This report is produced and distributed only to those members that report data.  Data issued will serve as a tool in keeping track of the past performance and the current strength of your market. 

Data is reported by participating WASTEC members for the following product categories:

• Mobile equipment (monthly by state)
• Baling equipment (monthly)
• Stationary compactors (monthly)
• Residential and commercial carts (quarterly)
• Containers (quarterly)
• Cart lifting/dumping equipment (monthly for mobile cart tippers)
• Tarping systems (quarterly)
• Technology equipment (quarterly)
  

Detailed reports are generated for participating WASTEC member companies for the categories in which they report production data. To join the WASTEC Product Production Statistics Program, WASTEC members must complete the Participation Agreement.

WASTEC Production Statistics Data Sharing Program. This program provides a summary report of all the reported data from the WASTEC Product Production Statistics. The report is available to any WASTEC member company that participates in the WASTEC Statistics Programs in all areas in which they are eligible to submit data.
A Quarterly Market Statistics Report is provided to Data Sharing Program participants. To join the WASTEC Production Statistics Data Sharing Program, WASTEC members must complete the Data Sharing Agreement.
