WASTEC Market Statistics Programs
WASTEC offers its members the ability to participate in the following industry statistics programs:
WASTEC Market Activity Index/Market Trends Index
This report trends on twenty-one questions broken up into six broad areas - Domestic Sales; Export Sales; Orders Activity; Inventory Activity; Price Activity and Productivity. The data is further segmented by manufacturers and by consultants/distributors/service providers (non-manufacturers).
The report is modeled after the nationally recognized Purchasing Managers’ Index (Institute for Supply Management) which uses 50 to indicate no change response, 0 to indicate all negative response and 100 to indicate all favorable response. These trends are significant because an index number greater than 50 indicates an expanding economy, a number less than 50 indicates a contracting economy and the difference between the index and 50 indicating the magnitude of the trend.
WASTEC Product Production Statistics
This monthly/quarterly report covers invoiced shipments from production facilities, regardless of place of origin. Shipped product is reported by regional destination in the North American Domestic (NAD) market which includes the United States (broken out by five Regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West and Pacific), Canada and Mexico, and Exports to all other areas from production facilities in the NAD area.
Data is reported by participating WASTEC members for the following product categories:
- Mobile equipment (monthly by state)
- Baling equipment (monthly)
- Stationary compactors (monthly)
- Residential and commercial carts
- Containers
- Cart lifting/dumping equipment (monthly for mobile cart tippers)
- Tarping systems
Detailed reports are generated for each participating WASTEC member company for only for the categories in which the company reports production data. To join the WASTEC Product Production Statistics Program, WASTEC members must complete the Participation Agreement.
WASTEC Production Statistics Data Sharing Program. This program provides a summary report of all the reported data from the WASTEC Product Production Statistics. The report is available to any WASTEC member company that participates in the WASTEC Statistics Programs in all areas in which they are eligible to submit data.
A Quarterly Market Statistics Report is provided to Data Sharing Program participants. To join the WASTEC Production Statistics Data Sharing Program, WASTEC members must complete the Participation Agreement.
EIA is the trade association that represents the private sector solid waste and recycling industry through its two sub-associations, the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) and the Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC). NSWMA represents for-profit companies in North America that provide solid, hazardous and medical waste collection, recycling and waste disposal services, and companies that provide professional and consulting services to the waste services industry. WASTEC represents companies that design, build, distribute, service and consult with respect to the equipment and technology systems that are used to collect, contain, transport, store, process, recycle, treat and dispose of the world's solid wastes and recyclable materials.
