Welcome to EIA
The Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) – through its two sub-associations the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) and the Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC) – represents companies and individuals who manage solid and medical wastes; manufacture and distribute waste equipment; and provide environmental management, consulting and pollution-prevention-related services.
- EIA provides these associations administrative, legal, federal affairs, research and public relations resources.
- EIA also has its own members (public officials and insurance companies).
- EIA has its own programs and events, such as the annual Hall of Fame Awards, the Women’s Council, the Future Industry Leaders Alliance (FILA), the Drivers of the Year program.
- EIA also is a primary sponsor of WasteExpo, the industry’s leading trade show and is responsible for the show’s educational sessions.
- EIA makes a variety of publications and other benefits available to its members.
EIA Women's Council Future Industry Leaders Alliance Chairman's CouncilThe Chairman's Council provides an opportunity for owners and senior managers at privately held companies to visit various waste facilities, including transfer stations, MRFs and landfills, as well as to share ideas about the industry and socialize. EIA is the trade association that represents the private sector solid waste and recycling industry through its two sub-associations, the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) and the Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC). NSWMA represents for-profit companies in North America that provide solid, hazardous and medical waste collection, recycling and waste disposal services, and companies that provide professional and consulting services to the waste services industry. WASTEC represents companies that design, build, distribute, service and consult with respect to the equipment and technology systems that are used to collect, contain, transport, store, process, recycle, treat and dispose of the world's solid wastes and recyclable materials.
