Benefits of WASTEC Membership

As a WASTEC member, your company is part of the largest U.S. association focused on equipment and technology for the solid waste and recycling industry. Your membership brings with it many benefits that allow you to get involved, keep you informed, and provide opportunities to network with industry peers and customers.

Here are some of the many WASTEC benefits of which your company can take advantage:

  • Special WASTEC-member exhibition space rates for WasteExpo. Members currently save $3 - $5 per square foot of exhibit space, depending on the amount of space taken.
  • WasteExpo makes dues contribution credited toward your dues based upon the amount of exhibit space taken by your company. The dues contribution is currently: $3.59 per sq. ft. for the first 1000 sq. ft., $2.25 per sq. ft. for the next 2500 sq. ft., and $ 1.71 for the exhibit space over 3500 sq. ft. For many WASTEC-members, the WasteExpo dues contribution pays all or a substantial portion of their membership dues.
  • Deep discounts on ANSI Z245 series standards, WASTEC publications and other items included in the EIA Publications Catalog.
  • Special member rates at all WASTEC and National Solid Wastes Management Association meetings, conferences and events. WASTEC members are encouraged to participate in NSWMA activities.

    • WASTEC Market Activity Index/Market Trend Index Program (WMAIS/MTIP) - notification of the posting of the current quarterly survey on the WASTEC website. The WMAIS/MTIP is a master index reflecting the composite results of a number of corporate economic activity evaluators, and is intended to serve as both a measurement of the current vitality of the technology sector and as a significant leading economic indicator of future trends. It is designed to reflect estimated actual results in the various benchmarking criteria of waste and recycling industry products and services. All member companies may participate. Participating companies receive detailed survey results.
    • ANSI Accredited Standards Committee Z245 on Equipment Technology and Operations for Wastes and Recyclable Materials (including subcommittees) - meeting announcements.

    • Legal & Regulatory Alerts - information about current legislative or regulatory activities of which your company should be aware and may want to take an active role in contacting your Representative/Senators or commenting on a proposed rule that impacts your business.
    • WASTEC Member Benefit Programs - From time to time WASTEC sends information about programs that the association has developed to save money for members. These programs cover such areas as credit management, insurance, gas and electric utilities service management, telephone service, and car rentals.
    • NSWMA Regional/Chapter Meetings - WASTEC members are invited to attend and participate in National Solid Wastes Management Association chapter and regional meetings. These meetings provide WASTEC members opportunities to network with potential customers, sponsor event-related activities and participate in chapter program and legislative affairs activities.
    • WASTEC General Interest Communications - information that has broad general interest to WASTEC members. Usually, this material is from a newspaper or magazine article that might not be seen by the membership at large. Generally, there will be no more than two e-mails per month.

These benefits and others are there to keep your company informed while it makes money, saves money and gets heard as a result of it's WASTEC membership.
